Wounded things

Things showing here aren’t fancy. I was just playing with my digital camera macro shoots. You probably need to enlarge them to see the scars.

Big car = rich owner?

The government is at it again. Road tax price reduced for all vehicle at 1.6L or bellow. Apparently the idea was to help the poor. Those who drive bigger car with higher capacity should afford to pay more.

Unfortunately the logic is a little naive. It is like saying the one staying higher in a condominium would be richer, or the one own a faster computer are smarter too.
The Smart Fortwo is likely for the rich and bellow 1.6L, the Naza Citra is MPV for the average and it is 2.0L.
Using the vehicle capacity to measure one wealth is rather bias, although I wish it is that simple, everyone can just grab a Hummer first and be rich, logical right?

Anyway, the amount of saving off the reduced road tax is so insignificant for all the owner of vehicle bellow 1.6L, none of them able to justify the increased expenses on petrol. What amused me is that the gov make big hype on such “deduction” and claim “multi-millions lost” on the road tax collection – that’s a bummer.

Nevertheless it is at least a correct move to relieve some pain while removing subsidies on fuel I would say.
The gov has to do more… no toll rise in next 2 years? That is because no toll contract are due to price revise until 2008, you call this news? Except for the Penang bridge, which is already settled before the news announced. This is even more pathetic then the road tax deduction.

Infrastructure for One Million Email Accounts?

No, I don’t deal with a million email accounts yet, but I have a feeling that I will ;)
It is always good to get ready, just in case. My ISP will send me love letter everyday.

Smoker’s computer

A smoker’s computer. When this thing is in my room for a day, you would think I am a smoker too.

Lesson for the terrorists

Bomb is really not necessary, just spread the rumor and watch the crowd starting to run for their life.
The end result? Probably more effective than really setting off the bomb.
See this “965 dead in Baghdad stampede”

How many dead in London bombing? I meant the suicidal bomber? How many suicidal bomber dead in Baghdad?
This is really cost effective.

50% off for summons, go get more summons

The government is running an offer on traffic summons – 50% off for 2 weeks. So it is good time to pay up now if you have some pending one, or else go out to get more while it is cheap.
