Disney Buys Pixar

Steve Jobs will be the single largest shareholder in Disney after the deal. This is so much sounds like “Apple Buys Next” not long ago.
Apple bought Next for 400M, but it turns out Next taking over Apple instead. OS X is merely Next re-branding – right?

So what Steve going to do in Disney? With Apple and Disney in his sleeve, the sky is the limit.

The girl on a basketball

[Original]

It wasn’t a delightful experience looking at those pictures. A girl that has no legs “sitting” on a basketball for supports. Her name is Qian Hongyan.

I’ve got these pictures for many months. The images didn’t go away from my mind. I always think of her when I was having difficulties – she has been motivating me a lot, with her smile – it bring tears to my eyes if I look at that picture any longer.
So for everyone out there looking at this page (with computer and internet), having displeasing moment, think of her, the girl on a basketball.

I haven’t dig deeper for the full story until now. It seems there were some good things happening after her story published. The “China Rehabilitation Research Center has come to Qian’s home to help her for rehabilitative treatment, the MBL has even “adopted” her.

[Original]

I can finally rest thinking about her, but there is so many more of “her” out there that may not be lucky enough to gain the kind of media attentions or sufficient treatments. I just hope I am not getting another basketball girl picture again.

KFC does fish

KFC has been doing chicken and only chicken since day one. Yes, they have been trying some other means of cooking the same chicken, adding more spices, swing to Tomyam flavor (and back) etc, but at the end of the menu, it is still the same fried chicken that sell.

So what make them do fish? Why not another chicken flavor? If Kenny Roger can claim the roasted chicken are healthier than the fried one, why KFC not roast their chicken too? K-R-C anyone?

Why fish?

My only logical answer to this: bird flu pandemic.
Imagine when the bird flu strike with large skill, no body will eat chicken, no more chicken supply in the human food chain, so that means the end of KFC too. Right?
When we have the pigs diseases crisis some years ago, all the pork dedicated stalls have to turn their menu into something else overnight. Some of them close down, most of them never recovered after the crisis.

So what KFC in mind now? Beef? Some diseases with cows too in history.
Fish is a logical choice, there is virtually unlimited breed of fishes, they can’t just get the same flu or disease.

So KFC does fish, what are you going to do next? With the growing cases on animal-to-human diseases, we may need to consider turning ourself into vegetarian soon.

2006 first post

It wasn’t a pleasant year for 2005 but I am happy to be what I am now – able to sleep without much trouble. I wouldn’t be frightening if someone knock at my door in the middle of the night.

I probably going to end up owing the bank more money by end of this year, but that doesn’t really matter.

I may not come out with the cure to cancer, but I think I am pretty much winning to fight spam. Watch out you spammer out there!

I am still looking for ideas on what to do with this domain, it is running on Mambo at this moment, but I don’t think I am going to continue with it. I am still reluctant to develop something my own, but it looks like I don’t have much choice here – if I really wanted my idea to be up there as it is.

Oh well, maybe it is a good subject for 2006. Thanks for stopping by. Have a good year ahead.
