Is it a Hotel? A palace? Nope, it is a house.

Now see a house that you have definitely contributed to – if you have paid for petrol.

Malaysia Boleh Slideshow

Pathetic but not without ground. The Malaysia known the problem – I believed most of Malaysia are good “analysis” in this case. Unfortunately the one in control always has to think profit first.

So we ended up with all the king size management and gigantic corporations with handful of work force. It is quite amazing to see that handful of work force actually putting out such a high output, and get sacked first when things went wrong.

Ads without borders

Got some funny “ads” today. Some has been around forever, but I’ll post them here anyway.
The Michelin kid is the one that really amazed me – you don’t get this kind of ads out there.

Bad OCR system, blame the blue pen

I’ve got this amusing email today. My immediate impression was “If they have a shitty OCR system, ask them to change the system, not our pen please.”

Unless their OCR system emitting blue light while scanning those documents, I don’t see how changing to black pen may improve the situation.

Talking about bureaucracy…

Subject: Income Tax Forms - Borang B / BE
Date: Wed, 22 Feb 2006 13:50:29 +0800

Dear Friends,

Just to inform you that you have to use BLACK ball point pen when filling up your Income Tax form. I just found out about that when I called Inland Revenue Department this afternoon.

Was actually checking with them on some other matters when the officer suddenly asked me whether I have filled up my income tax form. When I replied "Yes", she advised me to either change it to black ink or to get a new form. I argued with her saying that their "Nota Penerangan" states that we could either use blue or black ball point pens.

The officer then explained to me that just a few weeks ago they found out that their computer systems were unable to read those writings which were blue in colour.

So friends, if you haven't filled up your form, please remember to use black ball point pen.

Please share this piece of information with your other friends to spare them the unnecessary hassle.

KFC and Nokia

I’ve got a strange email today from Nokia. You do know what’s Nokia selling right? (They used to sell different things those days, but that’s another story)

So why deal with KFC?

I suspect the pressure is on KFC. They are trying to promote their core (Chicken) through whatever channel they can. Soon you’ll see the F in KFC would refer to “Fish” instead, not “Fried”.

And what is “C” now? Well, you can look for all the animals name that start with C.

Here goes with the email.

“Hey XXX,

Nokia and KFC have cooked up a mouth watering deal! And the sweet thing is, it’s all so easy for you.

Just print out this page and cut out the coupon below. Present it at your neighbourhood KFC outlet before placing your order and the goodies are yours! This promotion is valid at all outlets except the ones listed below. And make sure you do it before 20 March 2006.

Enjoy!

H5N1 is here. To stay.

H5N1 is landed here in this corner of the planet. Is KFC ready for the impact?
We should continue to eat chicken, told by the ministries. But my wife have announced no chicken and egg from now on – talking about efficiency of “home-ministry”.

So here goes, the end of the world has just started.

Lacks of updates

Sorry for being lacks of updates. It was mainly due to my none-stop coughing syndrome. Well I was still mostly tied on the net and doing my daily tasks, but no mood for the blog and no priority for it.

I’ve got myself a long list of special medication to cure coughing, but needless to say, mostly useless. Thanks guys, if you were one of the contributor on the special formula.

There are many things to catch-up. I’ve to bring down the main server since some cracking activities being detected, you are, at this moment, visiting my server at home.
Anyway, although this is just temporary, it may continue like this for a long long time — my experience told me.
Any apache + php expert out there could advice me how to secure the server with two of these services running?
