Thanks for waiting…

I was waiting for the elevator, with a stranger.

When it arrived, a youngster from no where pop up and asked me for direction (rather rude).
After I’ve finished explaining the direction with the youngster, I realized that the stranger has gone into the elevator, but holding the door patiently for me.

How polite. Thanks for waiting … stranger!

Lowyat car park entrance glitch

It was about 11:40 AM, I was turning into Lowyat car park.
The car infront of me had a season parking, so she zoomed in without much delay.

When it came to my turn, I stop at the point where I need to get the entrance ticket, wind down the mirror, and noticed that the gate has opened.
The gate was supposed to be down. It can only open after I’ve press the ticket button, and fetch my ticket.

Something wasn’t right, but I’ve pressed the button to get the ticket anyway.
The machine refused to spew me a ticket. Again, a machine that has failed to serve a human.

I press the button again, no sign of the ticket, so I zoomed in without a ticket.
Then I went to their ticket counter immediately to tell them the problem.

They looked at the live CCTV, nothing wrong with the ticketing system, all the cars were following the rule: press-button, get-ticket, get-in.

One of their staffs even went out to look at me and the box that I was carrying, and said that “You just got in? And you have managed to do shopping already?” — she sounded like I was trying to cheat for a ticket. I was on my T-shirt and I didn’t even comb my hair. Crap.

She asked me why “didn’t you press the intercom and ask for the ticket?” — ya right,

I suggest them to playback the CCTV recording.
An old folk took down my car number and asked me to go shopping first because “the supervisor wasn’t around yet”.

So I went up and do my own business, and came back after an hour.
A lady said that they have checked the CCTV, and claimed that I didn’t press for the ticket.
I was like huh? Can I go to see that tape playback? This is hungry ghost month you know.
But she handed me a ticket nevertheless, and ask me to just paid up.

That’s fine for me. I don’t want to waste time arguing. So I paid up and left. Story ends here.

I dare to say their supervisor did not even check the CCTV.
There is definitely a loop-whole there in their system.

Nokia N80 firmware update, longer battery life but…

Nokia has released an update on N80 firmware few months ago. I took the trouble to find a Windows machine, got it downloaded, and realized the battery life has extended from 1 day to 2 days.

Now I don’t have to re-charge my phone every morning before I leave home. Nice.

But, sadly, my not-so-smart, small and dated phone battery last much longer.
With one charge, it can serve me 4 days straight (day and night).
I’ve been using this handicapped smart-phone far too long. I’ve forgotten how those days I can ignore and abuse my phone, not the other way round. I have served my smart-phone way to long, the phone and technology suppose to serve me, SUPPOSE!

Pathetic.

So I’ve finally turn my so call smart-phone off, and switch back to a plain, monotone, black and white display, 4 years old phone.

It has been over a week now. I am still OK with it.
Yes, I cannot take photo with it, but the N80 photo quality is suck anyway.
Yes, it has no fancy ring tone, but the monotone stand out quite well among all the polyphonic phones, so I can easily identify that’s my phone ringing.
Yes, I cannot sync the address book with my notebook, but I can pop the SIM card back once in a while to keep things in sync.
Yes, I cannot surf with 3G, but my broadband at home and office is getting stable these days, and I’ve decided not to get online while I am out playing.
Yes, it look dull and boring, just look somewhere else please.
Yes, it has only 1% of the N80 feature, but it make call and receive call just fine.

My next target is to get rid of the phone entirely. I will still carry it, but it will be turned off most of the time.

How birdnest was made

Kind of disgusting, don’t click if you take birdnest regularly.
